Position Overview

We are recruiting for a medium-sized manufacturing and distribution organization based in Eden Prairie seeking a Senior Accountant with 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience. This role will be fully in-office for the first six months to support onboarding and cross-functional integration, then transition to a hybrid schedule (2–3 days per week in-office).

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring strong internal controls across a multi-location environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
  • Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting
  • Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and margin analysis
  • Reconcile inventory, COGS, and related manufacturing accounts
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support external audit requests and year-end audit preparation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company internal controls
  • Identify and implement process improvements within accounting workflows
  • Participate in financial system and general ledger system updates and enhancements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related (four-year degree required)
  • 4–6 years of accounting experience; CPA not needed
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environment strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with inventory and cost accounting concepts
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
