Staff Accountant (6-Month Contract)

Location: St. Louis Park, MN (On-site/Hybrid potentially)

St. Louis Park-based client is looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join us for a 6-month contract engagement. This is a pivotal role designed for a detail-oriented professional who can hit the ground running, maintaining the integrity of our clients’ daily financial operations while tackling key projects.

You will work closely with the management to ensure seamless financial reporting and provide critical support during the next two fiscal quarters.

Main Duties

• Financial transactions: Manage daily cash reporting and execute precise bank/account reconciliations.
• Closing & Reporting: Drive the month-end close process and prepare accurate financial statements and journal entries.
• Operational Support: Provide high-level backup and assistance for AP/AR functions as needed.
• Contract-Specific Projects: Willingness to chip in and help on any department related financial project
• Collaboration: Support Manager with ad-hoc reporting and targeted departmental needs.

Required

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting or Finance preferred).
• Experience: 2+ years of professional accounting experience, with a proven ability to adapt quickly to new systems.
• References: 2 prior Supervisors recommending you for this project
• Technical Skills: High accounting aptitude, sharp attention to detail, and a proactive approach to accounting.
• Communication: Ability to convey complex financial information to others

• Competitive Hourly Compensation based on experience. $35/hour to $45/hour
• Paid Time Off
• After 30 days, if client feels it would be a success, may offer M and F from home and T, W, TH in office
